the team behind the fund
Bay Men's Fund in the Western Bay is new, but the people behind it aren't. It's managed by Acorn Foundation, the Western Bay of Plenty's own community foundation.
A community foundation does two things with the donations it receives. Some of it is invested and kept growing permanently, so it can keep supporting the region long after the money was first given. The rest goes straight out the door each year, given directly to local charities and community groups.
Acorn has been doing exactly this since 2003, and has already distributed more than $32 million to hundreds of local organisations, everything from elderly support services to youth programmes, while carefully growing the funds behind them for the future.
Your donation works the same way. Part builds the Western Bay Men's Future Fund, growing for the long haul. The rest goes out this year, through Acorn's same trusted process, straight to causes that matter to you, right now.
